Heritage Rat is a small production team based in Bright, North Eastern Victoria. The team comprises principally of Andrew Swift & Sean King, along with a small party of others who step on-board to assist with various projects. Their first rough home-video documentaries in the early 1990s, the 'Upper Dargo','Red Jacket Mine' and 'Buckland' were publicly screened in Bright to several full houses and ever since new releases have been one of the main events of the Bright Spring and Autumn Festivals.
Outside Heritage Rat, Andrew Swift has worked as a heritage consultant (specializing in mining sites), to various local and State departments & agencies as well as gold mining exploration companies. Over the past few years he has worked at local gold mines near Harrietville, Wandiligong and Glen Wills in much the same tradition as our early mines, only with diesel engines and relatively improved compressors & machinery.
